The New Mexico Chapter of the BMW CCA hosted another COVID safeCardinal Point driving tour on Saturday, September 19, 2020. The weather was perfect for the New Mexico True drive which started at Santa Fe BMW where the Norteño BMW CCA members (Northern New Mexicans) joined us.

While there, some ventured to the church or by the water flowing through the Potrero Ditch for quiet contemplation with the other pilgrims present, but many stayed unobtrusively in the parking lot talking about BMW’s. Then on to Truchas, Trampas and Picuris Pueblo where we departed the High Road and headed for Dixon and a rest stop in the area followed by an interesting stop at the Johnnie Meier Classical Gas Museum in Embudo, New Mexico. This was followed by an outdoor picnic lunch with excellent barbecue and green chile cheeseburgers provided by the Chapter from Sugar’s BBQ in Embudo.

The Drive also included the reveal of Chapter President Phil Undercuffler’s recently acquired, wonderfully patinaed, gunmetal grey Z3 M S54 Roadster with Imola interior. Some members suggested to Phil that he maintain the patina as a reminder that BMW’s are meant to be driven!
