Denise Inight has a dark blue, manual transmission 2004 E85 Z4 roadster 2.5i that she loves. Known as the “Z Nanny”, she is passionate about Z cars and was determined to build a group of like-minded enthusiasts in New Mexico, even to the extent of following strangers in Z’s just to say hello and let them know they have Z friends in the neighborhood. She used to leave handwritten notes on Z’s that she would see parked, but now she can leave a flyer or business card. The ZSCCA is a national car club for all BMW Z-Series cars and is a SIG (Special Interest Group) of the BMW CCA. Denise created a local Albuquerque Z Group and is the Area Rep for the Z Series Car Club of America.

Denise’s Albuquerque Z Group has been very active, often launching driving tours combined with lunch from the Sandia BMW Wheels and Coffee event on the third Saturday of the month. The group had a great time at the Roadrunner Region of the Porsche Club of America Frostbite Autocross earlier this year and had been looking forward to the ZSCCA ZFEST in Snowmass Village, Colorado this summer. Unfortunately, it has been rescheduled to June 27 – July 2, 2022. The date and location of the 2021 ZFEST are yet to be announced. Hopefully, the Albuquerque Z Group will be able to safely restart activities soon. The group plans on participating in the Drive 4 Corners BMW Meet that will be hosted this year at the mountain town of Crested Butte, CO from August 27-30, 2020. To find out what the Z Group is up to, follow Albuquerque BMW Zs on Facebook.

The Roadrunner Region Porsche Club held their annual novice autocross school which included both classroom and track instruction prior to the Frostbite Autocross on March 8, 2020. The RRR PCA invited members of the NM BMW CCA to attend and five BMW Z-Series and one BMW 1600 took up their offer. The PCA reports that they seem to have a great time and apparently learned a lot based on their times. Denise Inight of the Albuquerque BMW Zs said they received a “very warm, friendly, and welcoming” experience from the Roadrunner Porsche Club.
