Perfect Weather Greets BMW Enthusiasts at Annual Clean Car Show
The BMW Car Club of America’s New Mexico Chapter held its annual Clean Car Show on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at the picturesque New Mexico Veterans Memorial in Albuquerque. Ideal weather made for a fantastic day, as participants gathered for the popular “People’s Choice” competition and helped raise funds for a worthy cause. The event served as a fundraiser for the New Mexico Veterans Memorial Foundation, which supports activities at the Memorial Welcome Center and assists local veterans groups with their missions. Thanks to the generosity of attendees, almost $750 was raised and donated to the Foundation.
Sandia BMW once again served as the corporate sponsor for the People’s Choice Awards, providing generous gift certificates to the winners. Special thanks go to Cameron Berenger-Russell, Sandia BMW’s Marketing Director, for leading this initiative.
A total of 23 BMWs were registered for the show, with a standout display of M3s, classic “Neue Klasse” cars, including a pair of BMW 2002s and a 1600, drew plenty of attention – alongside a very nice, brand-new M4 convertible. There were also 9 entries in the BMW Z Series Corral. Appreciation goes to the Albuquerque BMW Z’s group and Jim Price for his help in promoting the event.
First Place in the People’s Choice competition went to Rob Anthony with his E46 M3, Second Place went to Nathan Molina with his E36 M3, and Third Place went to Buddy Lorio with his 1600. Each winner received a gift certificate from Sandia BMW and a custom trophy featuring the NM Chapter logo, created by Rowan Apparel in Albuquerque. Additionally, new BMW CCA member Don Lacen was recognized with a club grille badge, presented by NM Chapter Membership Chair Jim Levandoski.
