SUMMARY:Chapter Tour of the Wheels Museum
DESCRIPTION:Join the New Mexico Chapter of the BMW CCA for a tour of the Wheels Museum on Saturday\, September 18\, 2021. The Wheels Museum is located on the site of the historic Santa Fe Railroad Shops in downtown Albuquerque. Built-in 1914\, the Albuquerque shops serviced steam locomotives operating on the Santa Fe Railroad. The Museum is currently housed in what the Santa Fe Railyards once referred to as “The Storehouse”\, a long and narrow structure built in 1914\, in which was kept an enormous inventory of all manner of parts and supplies for the larger maintenance shops and the entire Santa Fe railroad system in general. Their collections embrace the history of the railroads\, the impact of the rail yards on Albuquerque\, as well as automobiles\, horse and wagon\, and other modes of transportation. \nWe will meet at 9:00 am in the Wheels Museum parking lot at 1100 2nd St SW in downtown Albuquerque. The guided tour will begin at 9:30 am. Lunch will be provided.

SUMMARY:Convertible Cars Cruise to the Crest (non BMW CCA Event)
DESCRIPTION:The 6th Annual Convertible Cars Cruise to the Crest will be held Saturday\, September 25\, 2021 from 10 am to noon. The drive will be up old Route 66 and NM 14 to Sandia Crest. All makes and models of convertible cars\, Jeeps\, etc. are welcome! This is National Public Lands Day which means free parking at Sandia Crest.  \nThey will meet once again at Smith’s on Tramway and Central.
