DESCRIPTION:Join the New Mexico Chapter of the BMW Car Club of America for a truly unique spring drive that blends scenic roads\, great food\, and cutting-edge science. On April 18\, 2026\, Tourmeister Nick Upton leads us from Socorro to one of the most iconic scientific sites in the world\, the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA). \nWe’ll begin the day by gathering at the Walmart in Socorro (700 6th Street) between 10:00 and 10:15 a.m.\, giving everyone time to connect before heading out. From there\, we’ll make a short drive to M Mountain Grill\, where a reserved patio brunch awaits at 11:00 a.m. Enjoy a relaxed meal with fellow members and take in views of Socorro’s iconic “M” Mountain. \nAt approximately 12:30 p.m.\, we’ll depart for a memorable 52-mile drive along US 60 along the high desert plains west of Socorro. Our destination is the VLA Spring Open House\, where Nick has secured initial passes for our group\, with additional availability if needed. \nAt the VLA\, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the grounds at your own pace\, view fascinating exhibits\, and take self-guided tours among the massive radio telescopes that have helped unlock the mysteries of the universe. We will also attempt to arrange guided tours for those interested\, depending on availability upon arrival. Guests are welcome to stay and explore as long as they wish\, with the site closing promptly at 4:00 p.m. \nThis is a perfect opportunity to combine a spirited BMW drive with an unforgettable destination that showcases New Mexico’s unique blend of landscape and innovation. SUMMARY:2026 BMW Clean Car Show at the NM Veterans Memorial
DESCRIPTION:Come show off your clean BMW and support the New Mexico Veterans Memorial on Sunday\, May 24\, 2026 for the BMW Car Club of America New Mexico Chapter Clean Car Show. We will start at 10 am and finish by 1 pm. There will be no judging\, but we will have a People’s Choice competition\, so be sure to register with us when you come in. The winners will receive a trophy along with gift certificates\, generously provided by Sandia BMW. We will be in the North parking lot of the beautiful Veterans Park at 1100 Louisiana Blvd SE in Albuquerque. If you have a BMW ‘Z’\, look for the popular “BMW Z Corral” in the NE corner of the parking lot. \nYou do not need to be a member of the BMW Car Club of America to participate\, nor is there a registration fee. However\, we do ask that you consider supporting the New Mexico Veterans Memorial in their efforts to help us remember and honor the many veterans who have made a difference serving our country. Cash donations are fine\, or you can make checks payable to the New Mexico Veterans Memorial\, Inc.\, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. \nSpecial thanks to Sandia BMW for their continued support of this event.
