SUMMARY:Cardinal Point Drive North to Los Alamos
DESCRIPTION:Join the BMW Car Club of America New Mexico Chapter for a scenic drive to Los Alamos on Saturday\, July 12\, 2025. After meeting with the Los Alamos Auto Club Cars and Coffee\, we will check out the history of Los Alamos with a tour of the Los Alamos History Museum and surrounding campus. This includes the Fuller Lodge\, a walk down Bathtub Row to see the Oppenheimer House\, the Hans Bethe House\, a local homesteader’s cabin\, and the nearby Ancestral Pueblo Site.   \nMeet at the Nambe Falls Travel Center in Pojoaque at 9:00 am for a 9:30 departure. For those coming from the South\, the easiest access is to take US Hwy 285 North to the Cuyamungue Exit (Exit 176) and stay on the service road. The travel center is next to the Tesla dealership. From there we’ll enjoy a scenic drive to Los Alamos. After talking cars and touring the museum\, lunch will be at the Pajarito Brewpub and Grill. After lunch\, a short drive out of Los Alamos will take us to NM Hwy 4\, where drivers have 2 options. Those wanting to get back to Albuquerque can take Hwy 4 to the Valles Caldera and Jemez Springs and those wanting to go to Santa Fe can take Hwy 4 to White Rock and back to Pojoaque.

SUMMARY:Drive 4 Corners 2025 Meet in Durango
DESCRIPTION:Drive 4 Corners 2025 will take place in Durango\, Colorado from August 1st to 3rd\, 2025. The annual D4C event gathers a group of BMW enthusiasts from the Rocky Mountain region for scenic driving adventures and socializing. Click here for more information and to register for the event. Pre-registration is necessary and requires a registration fee of $85 per person\, which covers dinners\, a shirt\, and giveaways.  \nThe New Mexico chapter will convene a caravan into Durango led by Scott and Donnette Wagner. The caravan will meet on Friday\, August 1st\, 10:00 a.m. at Santa Fe Brewing\, 37 Fire Pl\, Santa Fe.  After a planned departure at 10:30 a.m.\, we will stop for lunch at Cafe Sierra Negra in Abiquiu. SUMMARY:Historic Pre-1937 Route 66 Drive South of Albuquerque
DESCRIPTION:In 2026\, Route 66 turns 100\, and the New Mexico Chapter of the BMW CCA will mark the Centennial with a special drive tracing one of the Mother Road’s earliest alignments south of Albuquerque. This tour follows the pre-1937 Route 66\, highlighting a chapter of New Mexico highway history that was largely bypassed when the road was realigned. \nWe will meet at the historic Gutierrez Hubbell House (6029 Isleta Blvd SW\, Albuquerque) on old Route 66 at 10:30 a.m. Participants are encouraged to arrive early and enjoy time at the museum as we gather. From there\, we’ll depart as a group and follow Historic Route 66 south to Los Lunas\, traveling the same roadway motorists used during Route 66’s earliest years. \nOur first leg takes us along Historic Route 66 (NM 314) to Los Lunas\, where we’ll stop for lunch at Teofilo’s Restaurante\, a registered State Landmark on old Route 66.  After lunch\, we’ll continue west\, following the original Route 66 alignment (NM 6) toward the Rio Puerco bridge. This bridge opened the Laguna Cutoff to transcontinental traffic thereby enabling the realignment of Route 66 and effectively ended the use of the older southern route. We’ll conclude the drive with a group photo opportunity near the original bridge before heading home. \nBecause lunch arrangements require a headcount\, please RSVP below by Thursday\, February 19\, 2026.

SUMMARY:Equinox TSD Rally
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, March 22\, 2026\, the BMW Car Club of America New Mexico Chapter will hold the Equinox TSD Rally. This will be somewhat of an educational rally\, introducing the rallyists to principles of Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) rallies. \nParticipants will use the Richta Competitor Rally app on their smartphones or tablets\, eliminating the need for course workers. All driving (except for occasional pull-outs) will be on paved roads at legal speeds\, and Rallymaster Dave Olson promises to put together a rally that will be easy to follow. Each car must be fully street-legal\, preferably quiet\, and have a driver and a navigator. Additional passengers will also be permitted. General Instructions will be provided when you register. \nWe will gather promptly at 8:00 a.m. at La Puerta Real Estate Services in Placitas\, NM\, 0.621 miles east of I-25 (have to get you in the spirit of things\, here.) There will be a drivers’ meeting and the first car off will be at 9:00 a.m. The rally will conclude with lunch and awards at Village Pizza\, 4266 Corrales Rd\, Corrales\, NM at about 1:00 p.m. There will be two rest stops along the route\, one at a coffeehouse and one at a McDonalds.  \n\nQuestions? DESCRIPTION:Join the New Mexico Chapter of the BMW Car Club of America for a truly unique spring drive that blends scenic roads\, great food\, and cutting-edge science. On April 18\, 2026\, Tourmeister Nick Upton leads us from Socorro to one of the most iconic scientific sites in the world\, the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA). \nWe’ll begin the day by gathering at the Walmart in Socorro (700 6th Street) between 10:00 and 10:15 a.m.\, giving everyone time to connect before heading out. From there\, we’ll make a short drive to M Mountain Grill\, where a reserved patio brunch awaits at 11:00 a.m. Enjoy a relaxed meal with fellow members and take in views of Socorro’s iconic “M” Mountain. \nAt approximately 12:30 p.m.\, we’ll depart for a memorable 52-mile drive along US 60 along the high desert plains west of Socorro. Our destination is the VLA Spring Open House\, where Nick has secured initial passes for our group\, with additional availability if needed. \nAt the VLA\, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the grounds at your own pace\, view fascinating exhibits\, and take self-guided tours among the massive radio telescopes that have helped unlock the mysteries of the universe. We will also attempt to arrange guided tours for those interested\, depending on availability upon arrival. DESCRIPTION:Come join us for our next drive on Saturday\, June 13\, 2026 as we will be exploring more of Historic Route 66\, this time east of Albuquerque\, part of the 1937 realignment\, with our final destination Las Vegas. Our meeting point will be the parking lot at the Smith’s in Edgewood (north side of the parking lot) at 8:00-8:15 a.m. with departure by 8:30. There will be eastbound bridge construction on I-40 at Carnuel so you may wish to drive Old 66/NM 333 from Tramway and Central out through Tijeras Canyon to Edgewood. \nAs we leave Edgewood we will be driving Old Route 66 east through Moriarty where we’ll merge onto I-40. DESCRIPTION:Join the BMW CCA New Mexico Chapter on Saturday\, July 25\, 2026 for a memorable summer drive through the scenic backroads of Northern New Mexico as we make our way to the historic Hacienda de los Martinez in Taos. Planned by Tourmeisters Scott and Donnette Wagner\, this day trip combines engaging roads\, fascinating history\, and great company for a classic NM Chapter adventure. \nWe will gather at 9:00 a.m. at the Poeh Cultural Center in Pojoaque (78 Cities of Gold Rd.\, Santa Fe\, NM) for a drivers’ meeting before departing promptly at 9:30 a.m. From there\, we will enjoy a beautiful drive north through some of New Mexico’s most picturesque landscapes on our way to Taos. \nOur destination\, the Hacienda de los Martinez\, offers a fascinating glimpse into life in Northern New Mexico during the early 1800s. Construction of the hacienda began in 1805 by Severino Martinez\, whose family built a thriving mercantile and agricultural operation that helped shape the region’s history. Today\, the restored hacienda serves as a museum filled with stories\, architecture\, and artifacts that bring New Mexico’s past to life. We plan to enjoy a group tour of the museum before heading to lunch at 5 Star Burgers in Taos for food\, conversation\, and camaraderie. \nWhether you are a longtime chapter member or joining us for the first time\, this promises to be a wonderful day of driving\, history\, and friendship in true BMW CCA style. \nPlease RSVP below by Thursday\, July 23\, 2026 so we can plan for museum admission and lunch accommodations. SUMMARY:Drive 4 Corners 2026 Caravan to Durango
DESCRIPTION:The BMW CCA New Mexico Chapter will convene a caravan into Durango for the Drive 4 Corners 2026 event. The caravan\, led by Rob and Christina Anthony\, will meet on Friday\, August 7\, 2026 at 9 a.m. at Santa Fe Brewing\, 37 Fire Pl\, Santa Fe. We will then caravan to Española for brunch at La Cocina. After brunch\, we will continue up U.S. 84 and stop for gas and snacks in Chama before arriving to Durango in time for dinner with the D4C group. \nBe sure to register for the Drive 4 Corners 2026 event separately here. It will take place in Durango\, Colorado from August 7th to 9th\, 2026. The annual D4C event gathers a group of BMW enthusiasts from the Rocky Mountain region for scenic driving adventures and socializing. Click here for more information and to register for the event. SUMMARY:2026 Karl Fox Memorial Fall Tour to Carlsbad Caverns
DESCRIPTION:The Annual BMW CCA New Mexico Chapter Karl Fox Tour will take place on Saturday\, Sept 19th and Sunday\, Sept 20th\, 2026. This year’s event will feature an exhilarating exploration of Carlsbad Caverns! This annual drive promises scenic roads and great company. North and central New Mexico members will meet at the East Mountain Public Library in Tijeras\, NM\, at  8:00 am. From there we will travel to Roswell for lunch at Cowboy Cafe\, followed by a trip to Artesia where we will stretch and admire the sculptures. We will proceed to Carlsbad and check into our hotel. \nThe BMW Borderland Region members can join us along the way or in Carlsbad.
