SUMMARY:May 2025 Borderland BMW Meetup At Ardovino’s Desert Crossing In Sunland Park
DESCRIPTION:The next NM BMW CCA Borderland Region First Sunday Meetup will be 10:00 am\, Sunday\, May 4\, 2025 at Ardovino’s Desert Crossing\, at 1 Ardovinos Dr\, Sunland Park\, NM. Weather permitting\, the patio is a great place for dining and conversation over some really good food. Join us for BMWs and Brunch! \nUncle Frank Ardovino\nFrank Ardovino\, an Italian immigrant\, served in the U.S. Cavalry and was stationed in El Paso. He was a fan of the finer things in life and enjoyed entertaining people. In 1949 he opened Ardovino’s Roadside Inn\, a fine dining and gambling establishment for high rollers\, in what was then called Anapra. By the time of his death in 1973 the place was run down and closed. Decades later his grandniece\, Marina Ardovino and her brother Robert restored the historic property. Today\, Ardovino’s Desert Crossing is an homage to Uncle Frank. Memorabilia and artifacts from years past adorn the walls. Forgotten spaces throughout the property are now fertile gardens\, and products from local\, family owned farms are used whenever possible. \nThe Borderland Region gatherings on the first Sunday of the month help build the community for BMW owners in west Texas\, southern New Mexico\, and northern Chihuahua in addition to the regular chapter events.
