April, 2010: Annual Spring Tour
WHEN: April 10, 2010 (Saturday)
WHERE: This is a destination tour. We will meet at the at the Visitors Center at the Very Large Array (VLA), just west of Magdalena, at 11:00 a.m. for a guided walking tour on the grounds of the VLA. To reach the VLA, take Hwy 60 west from Socorro about 50 miles. Those who wish to drive as a group from Albuquerque will leave from Sandia BMW at 8:00 a.m. If anyone is interested in a group drive from the Las Cruces and El Paso area, please contact Daniel Flegel or Jon van Arsdel, and we will coordinate a departure location. We will also have an optional lunch stop in Socorro after the tour. Daniel Flegel will be the tourmeister.
